China has just inaugurated a new jewel of tourism engineering. A network of open-air escalators that allows visitors to ascend a mountain of 1,500 meters in just ten minutes.
The project, known as the “stairway to the clouds”is located in the Lingshan Scenic Area, Jiangxi province, and promises to change the way millions of tourists experience hiking, reports mimorelia.
The monumental structure has 1,236 meters longequivalent to 88 stories high, and an approximate investment of 17,800,000 dollars.

The stairs, which wind the hillside like a metal ribbon through the fog, reduce the physical effort of a two-hour walk to a panoramic walk of just a few minutes, he says. mimorelia.
