This Tuesday, in the facilities of the emblematic Molino Building, an emotional recognition was held for designer Roberto Piazza for his outstanding artistic career. At the event, he was awarded a Diploma of Honor from the Senate of the Nation, in merit of his valuable contribution to Argentine culture and his tireless defense of creative freedom and human dignity, values that exalt the Nation and project it to the world.
The distinction was awarded by the National Senator for the Province of Jujuy, Vilma Bedia, with the presence of the Provisional President of the Senate, Bartolomé Abdala, the General Director of Culture of the Senate, Daniel Abate, and the General Director of the Molino Building, Marcelo Rodríguez.
Piazza was accompanied by figures from entertainment and journalism such as the host Lía Salgado, the actor Juan Acosta, the journalists Cacho and Alejandra Rubio, the journalist Nancy Duré, the theater producer Aldo Funes and the actress and personal friend of the designer, Mariana A.
One of the most moving moments of the ceremony was when Roberto deeply thanked him for the recognition, dedicating some special words to his husband Walter Vásquez, who, excited and with tears in his eyes, accompanied him from the audience.
To close the day, Piazza performed four tangos on stage, accompanied by models dressed in striking designs in violet tones, and culminated with his characteristic cry: “Long live freedom, damn!”
