Unitech announced that Unitech Iberoamericana, an expert company in cognitive digital transformation in the fight against fraud and organized crime, presented in Latin America the new i2 add-ons, the world’s leading platform in intelligence analysis and complex investigations. The launch was part of the company’s participation in two highly relevant international events: CLAB 2025 (Latin American Banking Congress) in Buenos Aires and the XXXVII edition of the National and International Conference of Public Ministries in Puerto Iguazú, Misiones.

«We are very satisfied to have brought our innovative solutions to two events of such magnitude in the region. The response from banking and judicial institutions has been extraordinary, and confirms that there is a clear demand for tools that combine advanced analytics with artificial intelligence to face current challenges in terms of fraud, money laundering and criminal investigation,» he said. Lautaro Carmona, CEO of Unitech Iberoamericana.

«With these new add-ons, including i2 Insights and i2 Explore, we expand the capabilities of the i2 suite to respond to current analysis needs in Banking, Justice and Security. i2 Insights allows us to automate the preparation and normalization of data, reducing the times prior to analysis, while i2 Explore brings the information from the intelligence repository closer to the operational user through an intuitive web interface, facilitating searches and visualizations without requiring additional tools or advanced technical knowledge,» he explained. Lucas Carmona, Technical Product Manager de Unitech Iberoamericana and in charge of the i2 business unit for both Latin America and Spain.

“The expansion of i2 with these add-ons and the integration of CogniLink, our assistant that incorporates AI into the i2 suite, are key steps on that path, and at Unitech we are proud to lead this transformation in the region,” he added. Lucas Carmona.

At CLAB 2025, held in Buenos Aires between September 10 and 12, banks and financial entities from across the region learned about the capabilities of i2 and its new extensions for the detection of suspicious operations, the analysis of complex financial flows and the fight against crimes such as fraud or money laundering.

For its part, the National and International Conference of the Public Ministries took place on September 18 and 19 in Puerto Iguazú. They brought together prosecutors, defenders, judges and judicial experts from across the region. There, Unitech Iberoamericana showed how i2 add-ons enhance data analysis, strengthen investigative processes and allow more agile and traceable decisions.

These new add-ons expand the functionalities of the i2 suite, incorporating advanced analytics and automation tools that simplify investigation processes, by allowing the automation of critical tasks and accelerating the obtaining of insights in contexts where time and precision are decisive.

CogniLink: generative artificial intelligence applied to research

In addition to the new i2 plugins, Unitech Iberoamericana presented CogniLink, its solution based on generative artificial intelligence that acts as a cognitive assistant within the i2 suite. The tool accelerates investigative analysis by automating repetitive tasks, generating reports and summaries, and enabling intelligent extraction of entities and links.

“CogniLink allows adding a generative artificial intelligence agent to the i2 investigation process, with the aim of improving the speed, precision and depth of investigations through AI applied to criminal analysis, process automation and intelligent generation of information,” he explained. Lucas Carmona.

Thanks to this integration, analysts can interact with data naturally, optimizing the search, analysis and visualization of complex information. Its ability to understand language and generate contextualized responses makes the tool a key ally for investigators, prosecutors and financial analysts, who need speed, precision and traceability in every decision.

Its key capabilities include automatic extraction of entities and links, intelligent generation of reports and summaries, and contextual investigative assistance, all on an interoperable architecture with market-leading large language models (LLM).

In this way, CogniLink significantly streamlines analytical tasks, transforming previously manual processes into automated and more precise flows. What previously required hours or even days of reading, interpreting and manually uploading data – such as analyzing police reports, news articles or emails – can now be resolved in a matter of seconds.

«With this innovation, Unitech not only consolidates itself as a strategic partner of i2 Group in Latin America, but also as a developer of its own solutions that complement and enhance world-leading technologies,» he indicated, for his part, Lautaro Carmona. And he concluded: «We continue to bet on innovation with impact. These events were a unique opportunity to share experiences with institutions throughout the region and demonstrate how technology, combined with the analyst’s knowledge and an effective strategy in the use of data, can transform criminal investigation and fraud prevention.»
