Carolina Winograd presents her tango album “Hoy más que yesterday”

The new album marks his return to tango with a free, lively voice without an expiration date.

After the impact of her book Living without an expiration date (Editorial Planeta, 2025), Carolina Winograd returns to music with a work that transcends genres and labels. “Today more than yesterday” (Aqua Records) is not a comeback: it is a statement.

The album continues the conversation that his book opened—that invitation to live with consciousness, coherence and freedom—but this time it does so from the body, the voice and the emotion. Through tango, Winograd traverses the great themes of adult life: desire, loss, guilt, loyalty, freedom and time. Not from the drama, but from the lucidity of someone who understood that pain can be a place of passage, but never of residence.

Each song on the album is an emotional universe. The bandoneon does not accompany: it dialogues, provokes, contains. The guitar and double bass build atmospheres that sustain emotion, open silences, tense and release. In that dialogue between pause and vertigo, Carolina sings without shields: the emotion is at the forefront, clean, raw, without artifice or speculation.

We spend our lives fearing getting old, when the only thing that ages is what we stop doing, feeling, dreaming. That’s why tango has no expiration date”says Carolina.

Today more than yesterday is an intimate and magnetic album, where each tango breathes a different truth. Garúa becomes a prayer, Qué bona fide a manifesto of dignity and hope, Martirio a wound that reveals emotional misery and the lack of self-love, El Motivo a slap in the face of decadence, and La Última Grela a raw rebellion.

The album does not seek nostalgia: it seeks awareness. It is a bridge between the artist and the woman who today chooses to sing alive, without conditions or stereotypes.

“In every tango there is a woman who recognizes herself and who can choose to remain tied to the past or capitalize on it, understanding that yesterday does not have to define us or condition us throughout our lives,” says the singer.

With this album, Carolina Winograd reaffirms her essence as an integral artist. Writer, singer and creator, she inhabits each discipline with the same dedication. In “Today more than yesterday” a vital view is condensed: the true revolution is not in staying “young, smooth and firm”, but in being able to live with coherence, freedom, less criticism and more permission – like tango, without an expiration date.

About Broadcast Cut

THE LAST GRELA

https://orcd.co/4v2gxmk

A visceral and contemporary rereading of Piazzolla and Ferrer’s tango.
Carolina Winograd turns it into a manifesto about feminine freedom, coherence and the price of letting life just pass us by and weigh us down.

The last grela She doesn’t just talk about the workers of love: she talks about all the women who deviated from the norm, those who—still—are singled out, condemned, ridiculed or vilified. But it also speaks of the other surrender—the most dangerous—: that of those who, out of fear of losing, surrender to habit. They continue in relationships that drain them, in places where they no longer grow or do not value them. And that renunciation, as common as it is invisible, is what makes us sickest and turns us off inside: what transforms illusion into boredom, passion into routine, desire into silence.

It speaks of that silent defeat that comes when we let the days repeat themselves without a soul; when we please everyone except ourselves; when guilt becomes habit and frustration becomes routine.

In her interpretation, Carolina does not seek compassion or nostalgia: she sings to wake up.
To remind us that when we don’t take the reins, life passes us by.
His voice does not act: embodies.
And in each verse vibrates the strength of a woman who chose not to resign, and who carries as a flag to light up others at all ages.
