Within the framework of Month of the Music and the Tradition Daythe Beethoven Foundation celebrates his 25 years with a unique proposal: “Songs without a country«, a recital that unites Argentina and Spain through the vocal work of five composers who lived and created in both lands. The outstanding soprano Jaquelina Livieri and the pianist Matías Chapiro They will offer an evocative program tonight at 8:00 p.m. at the foundation’s headquarters (Av. Santa Fe 1452).
The recital constitutes a unique opportunity to discover little-known songs in an explicit tribute to the vibrant artistic exchange between both cultures. For 90 minutes, the audience will be immersed in a sound experience that explores how Montserrat Campmany, Eduardo Degree, They integrated Spanish and Argentine influences in their works.
A repertoire that defies borders
The carefully selected program includes from tunes and ballads until Spanish popular songs and pieces for piano and voice. “Through this repertoire, we seek not only to value the melodic, rhythmic and expressive richness of these works, but also to reflect on the ability of music to build bridges between cultures,” the organization explained.
Among the notable pieces are the Seven popular Spanish songs by Manuel de Falla, the Baladas del Intermezzo by Jaime Pahissa with texts by Heinrich Heine, and works by Eduardo Grau such as “When Gabriel spoke to you” and “Nana”, the latter composed during his exile in Argentina.

Two trajectories that come together for cultural dialogue
Jaquena Liviereraborn in Rosario and graduated from the Higher Institute of Arts of the Teatro Colón, has developed a international career which includes performances at the Teatro Real in Madrid, Oviedo, Valladolid, Burgos and the United Kingdom. In 2024 he debuted in Italy and participated in a production of Turandot in China. Her notable roles include Violetta in La Traviata, Gilda in Rigoletto and Lucia in Lucia di Lammermoor.
Matias Chapirograduated from the Higher Institute of Art of the Teatro Colón in Opera Musical Direction, is a versatile musician whose experience transcends the boundaries of academic music. He has worked with popular music figures such as Nahuel Pennisi, Elena Roger and Peteco Carabajal, and directed operas such as The Barber of Seville and Don Giovanni.
25 years of the Beethoven Foundation: training talents
The Beethoven Foundationcreated in 2000 by Pía Sebastiani, continues the tradition started by her father, Maestro Augusto Sebastiani, who in 1900 assumed the direction of the Beethoven Conservatory. For a quarter of a century, the institution has dedicated itself to support talented young people without resources, promote social integration through music and be a reference for professionals and amateurs.
“With fidelity to our original mission, we support classical music and art in general, promoting artistic education from an early age and obtaining the necessary resources for promising young people to develop their talents,” highlighted the foundation, which today celebrates its silver anniversary.
