«Always humble, because what God gives you can also be taken away from you.» This is the last sentence he published Yeison Jimenez posted on his Instagram account. And today it is read differently, in a very moving way, because the famous 34-year-old Colombian singer died yesterdaySaturday, January 10, in the afternoon in a plane crash.
The small plane private in which the music star traveled crashed and burst into flames immediately in a rural area of the department of Boyacá, in central-eastern Colombia, while he was on his way to do a concert in Medellín.
The official departure report of the aircraft reported that the crew members were the pilot Hernando Torres, Yeison Jiménez, Juan Manuel Rodríguez, Óscar Marín (his assistant), Jefferson Osorio (his representative) and Weisman Mora (his photographer). They all lost their lives in the tragic episode.
The twin-engine Piper Navajo – which he owned – crashed shortly after taking off from Paipa airport, in the Colombian province of Tundama, after not gain height.

The flight was heading towards Medellín, because Yeison Jiménez had to appear at a show in the municipality of Marinilla, in the department of Antioquia, close to that city.
The fatal accident occurred shortly after 4 p.m. (local time) on Saturday, January 10, two hours after Yeison and three members of his team were photographed buying cheese at a store near the airport where the singer posed for selfies with the staff, reported Daily Star.
He plane in which the singer died belonged to his company, YJ Company SAS. As he told his fans, he had bought it in August 2022, while his fortune and popularity grew unstoppably.
The shock was enormous. In this sense, the Colombian president, Gustavo Petro, referred to the incident through a post on X (exTwitter): «Unfortunately six people have died on a plane that apparently caught fire in flight, near Paipa.»
For her part, the Minister of Transportation of Colombia, Fernanda Rojas, announced on the same network that the competent authorities began an investigation to determine the causes of the accident.

Who was Yeison Jiménez
Yeison Orlando Jiménez Galeano -known as Yeison Jiménez- was 34 years old and was one of the main exponents of Colombian music that stands out for his unique style that combined vallenato, ranchera and the popular genre.
Since he was little he showed a passion for music. At the age of 7 he began to participate in festivals and singing competitions in his municipality and in other towns in the department, where he achieved multiple recognitions during his childhood and adolescence.
From that moment on, he didn’t stop. Over the years, he built a repertoire of more than 70 own songss, many of them were radio and digital hits.
Among the best-known songs of his career are “Aventurero”, “Ni Tengo Ni Busca”, “Ya No Mi Amor” and “Vete”. Thanks to the eight albums that he published, he became one of the artists credited with revitalizing the genre.
So much so, that its success made it transcend borders and took it to stages in Europe, the United States and Mexico. In 2021, in addition, the Billboard magazine awarded him as Latin revelation artist.
I was in a couple with Sonia Restrepomother of his three children: Camila, Thaliana and Santiago, and with whom he had plans to marry.
