The renowned actor Julio Chávez received an emotional tribute this Friday in Mar del Plata, where one of the boxes at the Tronador BNA Theater was named after him. The distinction, promoted by Marcelo González, adds to the recognitions that the emblematic hall dedicates to great figures on the national scene, while Chávez continues starring in the successful play “La Ballena” on that same stage.

A box with its own name among legends
The tribute consisted of the discovery of a plaque in one of the theater’s boxes, designed by the goldsmith Juan Carlos Pallorls and incorporating a peace rose. In this way, Julio Chávez joins a select group of distinguished personalities in the room, among whom are Mirtha Legrand, Susana Giménez, Guillermo Francella, Graciela Borges and Modesto Bori.
“The modesty that this situation gives me legitimizes this great space”
After the event, the actor expressed his deep gratitude. “I feel very grateful for the room, for the experience and for this beautiful month,” said Chávez, and reflected with humility: “The modesty that this situation gives me legitimizes this great space.” His words highlighted the emotional and symbolic importance of recognition.
A pride for the room and the city
For his part, Marcelo González, promoter of the initiative, highlighted the relevance of having the figure of the actor in the Mar del Plata season. «Today we are proud to have Julio in the room, we proposed to him to have his eternal name and he accepted it with pleasure and pleasure. We are presenting Julio Chávez’s new box,» he stated during the ceremony.
The tribute not only celebrates the career of one of the most respected actors in the country, but also reinforces the link between the Tronador BNA Theater and the leading figures in Argentine culture and entertainment, consolidating its place as one of the emblematic venues on the Atlantic Coast.
