Yamana is an Argentine musical group that broke it with its pop-folk style. With their song “Come dance,” they became a national phenomenon, and their music was heard in every corner of the country. This allowed them to tour Argentina from end to end and play at the most important festivals, including three times in Cosquín!
His success was so great that music giants such as EMI and BMG released his albums. However, a few years later, the band hit a dead end. Federico Azurmendi, the voice and leader of the group, decided to start producing other artists in his studio in Carmen de Areco, the place where the band was born.
But the music called them again. In 2023, at a meeting of friends with his brother Augusto and Pedro Cormillot, they decided to resume the project. A few months later, his former producer, Julio Quintero, who is now his manager, joined.
This return gave them the opportunity to record an incredible collaboration with the great artist Ángela Leiva on the song “Eras”, co-written by Federico and his friend Víctor Espinillo.
And to celebrate, they released a new version of their classic “Come Dance” with one of the most important Uruguayan artists of the moment, Matías Valdez. The video, released on August 28, exploded and surpassed 400,000 views in less than a month.
