Genetic genealogy options eyed for glove DNA

Investigators are looking into genetic genealogy options to check for matches against DNA from a set of gloves found 2 miles away from Nancy Guthrie’s property, the Pima County Sheriff’s Department said Tuesday.

No DNA match was found in the national database known as CODIS or at the property, the department said in an update, noting that CODIS is «one option of many databases that are available.»

DNA found at Nancy Guthrie’s property is also being analyzed and «further testing needs to be done as part of the investigation,» the department said.

Glove DNA doesn’t match anyone in CODIS: Sheriff

The FBI ran DNA from a glove found during a roadside search through the national database known as CODIS, and did not get a match to any of the roughly 22 million samples in the database, according to the Pima County Sheriff’s Department.

That glove — which was found about 2 miles from Nancy Guthrie’s house — also did not match DNA found at Guthrie’s property, law enforcement sources told ABC News.

The DNA found at the property is being analyzed and further testing needs to be done on it, the sources said.
