In 2024, in Great Britain, a teacher sexually abused a minor student. For that crime she was arrested and expelled from the school where she taught, St. George. Now, Justice prohibited him from teaching for liferegardless of whether or not he serves his sentence.
According to the Daily Mailthe teacher, identified as Beverley Jane Dunnagewas discovered by a person engaging in sexual activity with a child after drinking alcohol together outside of school settings.
The witness recorded them, took photos and shared the materials with Avon and Somerset police, who proceeded to arrest her in July 2024. Consequently, Justice concluded that the teacher encouraged the boy to engage in sexual activities after drinking with him.
That same month, the woman was found guilty of two charges of sexual activity with a minor under the Sexual Offenses Act 2003 at Taunton Crown Court and was sentenced to 45 months in prison.
The Teaching Regulation Agency tested the allegations, arguing that violated important teaching standardsincluding «taking into account the need to safeguard the well-being of students.»
According to the teacher’s story, at the time of the act she had drunk alcohol after an argument and was not thinking clearly. The investigation later found that “there was evidence that Ms Dunnage’s actions were deliberate even though she had consumed alcohol at the time”.

Regarding the recent decision to ban her from teaching again, Stuart Blomfield, representative of the Secretary of Education, stressed: “In light of the panel’s findings against Ms Dunnage, which involved engaging in sexual activity with a minor, a strong consideration was taken. public interest in the protection of students and other citizens«.
He added: «His actions raised obvious…and important public and child protection concerns.» Another factor that led to the ban was «the impact this continued to have on the victim.»
In a handwritten letter accessed by Justice, the teacher acknowledges that she is not going to teach again.
Beverley has been teaching at the expensive St. George’s boarding school for girls since 2023. She was head of the eighth form and head of the sixth form boarding school. According to Daily Mail, he earned £30,000 a year.
