The day before his arrest, Epstein spent $15 million for a special reason

American financier and pedophile Jeffrey Epstein He bought a luxurious palace in the Palm Grove of Marrakech (Morocco) on July 5, 2019, one day before his final arrest on sex trafficking charges, according to an investigation by the British network BBC.

It was Epstein’s last financial transaction, worth 14.95 million dollars, as appears in the bank receipt published by the chain and that appears in the so-called «Epstein papers» declassified by the US Justice Department. Three days later, and upon learning of the arrest, Epstein’s accountant, Richard Kahn, He canceled the operation.

One of the reasons for Epstein’s interest in that palace, according to the network, could be to guarantee a safe haven given that Morocco does not have an extradition treaty with the United States, assuming that the millionaire knew of his imminent arrest.

He signed a wire transfer of US$14.95 million for the property on July 5, 2019, the day before his arrest (US Department of Justice).

However, a former associate of his, who spoke with BBC Without giving his name, he dismisses that idea and assures that Epstein was only looking for «a retirement where he could continue living the life of a king.»

The article shows a photo gallery of the property, identified as Bin Najil, built in an ornate traditional Moroccan style, which did not lack a swimming pool and a garden with a pergola. Up to 1,300 craftsmen had worked on its construction and decoration.

An interest that has been going on for a long time

Epstein’s interest in Bin Najil (which means «between palm trees») was long-standing, and in 2011 he had already shown himself willing to buy the property from its then owner, the German magnate Gunter Kiss, through an intermediary called Karyna Shuliak.

The connection with Morocco is even older: in 2002, Epstein and his accomplice Ghislaine Maxwell (currently imprisoned in the United States for her role in sex trafficking for the financier) were invited to the wedding of King Mohamed VI, supposedly brought by Bill Clinton.

It was around that time that Epstein explored the possibility of buying a palace in Tangier, and sent Maxwell to survey the land along with architects he trusted and also Virginia Giuffre, the young woman who later denounced the now former British Prince Andrew for having raped her at least three times in different Epstein properties.

The palace «affair» in Marrakech even includes former British minister Peter Mandelson, who was questioned last week for allegedly leaking confidential information to Epstein.

According to the BBC, already in 2008 Epstein asked Mandelson to activate his contacts to find him a house in Marrakech, without making clear Mandelson’s connection with the Moroccan city, known as a magnet for the jet-set of the entire world.
