The Argentine artist Sylvie González Janeiro presents “Les Anges de la Nuit”, her first exhibition in allusion to a series of pictorial works that are inscribed in a surreal, romantic and pop language, oriented towards the exploration of the subconscious as a symbolic and emotional territory.
The exhibition will take place on March 11, 12 and 13 at the Balcarce Palace (Quintana 161, CABA) from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., with free admission. The vernissage will take place on Friday the 13th at 6:00 p.m., with live music, with singing and piano performed by the artist.
Through dreamlike universes and mystical atmospheres, González Janeiro’s paintings propose a sensitive crossing between the real and the imaginary, where painting becomes a space of transit between different levels of human experience.
His creations build visual worlds that dialogue with the invisible, inhabited by winged figures, butterflies and hybrid beings that function as symbols of transformation, desire and an inner search. These elements do not respond to traditional religious iconography but to an intimate and emotional dimension, where the mystical manifests itself as a bond, resonance and deep connection.
Les Anges de la Nuit proposes a pictorial journey through the different states of the night understood not as the absence of light, but as the symbolic territory of the subconscious. The night appears here as a space of revelation, metamorphosis and bond, where the real and the imaginary intertwine.
It will be González Janeiro’s first exhibition based on a unique technique in its style: it consists of painting on metal using epoxy resin and acrylics. He called this technique “Stratified Luminescence”.
His debut as a visual artist coincides with a year in which González Janeiro plans to inaugurate the first university of the arts in the Argentine Republic that will grant a Bachelor’s degree as a qualifying degree, approved by the National Secretariat of Education, a state agency that depends on the Ministry of Human Capital.
Sylvie González Janeiro will be available to conduct interviews with interested media on both the opening and closing days of the exhibition.
