Manuel Adorni, Chief of Staff, faces a complicated judicial and political situation in March 2026 due to complaints about the use of private and official flights (to New York and Punta del Este) with his family, allegedly paid with public resources or without clear justification of funds, including accusations of illicit enrichment.
The judicial investigation known as Adorni lawsuit took a dramatic turn today when Justice formally requested the invoices for the private and official flights made by the Chief of Staff and his family. The measure, promoted by the Administrative Investigations Office (PIA), seeks to determine if there was an improper use of public resources or if the official’s assets are related to the high costs of these transfers.
The focus of the investigation
The dossier focuses on two main events. The first is the trip to New York, where Adorni’s wife, Bettina Angeletti, traveled on the presidential plane during «Argentina Week.» The second, a private charter flight to Punta del Este, Uruguay, whose cost would amount to several thousand dollars.
Justice seeks to break down the official’s financial situation to establish precisely who made the payments. Although Adorni’s entourage assures that the expenses were covered with his own funds, the researchers analyze whether the increase in his debts (which grew by 178% in one year) and his declared assets coincide with this level of spending.
Official endorsement and criticism
Given the progress of the case, President Javier Milei closed ranks with his Chief of Staff, describing the accusations as a media operation and appealing to the concept of «marginal cost» to justify the use of vacant seats on the official plane. For her part, Karina Milei expressed her «total and unconditional support» against what she called «media garbage.»
However, from the opposition, the Unión por la Patria bloc has already presented a request for interpellation in Congress. The original complaint, made by lawyer Gregorio Dalbón and representative Marcela Pagano, has put the libertarian administration in a defensive position, forcing it to make transparent accounts that, until recently, were kept in the private sphere.
A complex judicial scenario
Federal judge Daniel Rafecas was in charge of one of the complaints, while the PIA collects evidence on possible administrative irregularities. Society’s critical gaze now falls on the coherence between the discourse of «caste austerity» and the benefits enjoyed by the senior executives of the Executive in the exercise of their functions.
The support of the Cabinet: “Zero pesos of cost”
In the midst of the judicial advance, the Chancellor Pablo Quirno He came out to publicly support Adorni. Through his social networks, the head of the San Martín Palace dismissed the accusations, ensuring that the presence of family members on official flights does not generate additional expenses for the public treasury.
«All my support to @madorni. Transparency and integrity are pillars of this team. The use of vacant places in official delegations has zero pesos of marginal cost for the State. Enough of media operations » Quirno expressed in a message that sought to protect the figure of the Chief of Staff.
This support adds to that of Karina Milei, who described the complaints as «media garbage», reinforcing the Government’s position of not giving in to pressure from the opposition.
