Trump’s immigration police detained an Argentine woman in Los Angeles and she will be deported

Yanina Marcela Ruiza 31-year-old Argentine, was arrested on March 9 in Los Angeles, United States, by the Enforcement and Removal Office (ERO), an agency of the ICE which is responsible for enforcing immigration laws within the United States. As reported, has a criminal record and is part of a «South American criminal group.»

The news was announced this Wednesday by ICE through its official accounts. As indicated, Ruiz is in the US illegally and has «convictions for theft, aggravated robbery and driving under the influence of alcohol.»

The immigration service also maintains that the detained Argentine has «an extensive criminal history with numerous arrests, including several for alleged domestic violence.»

Meanwhile, from the ERO they affirmed that Ruiz is part of a «South American criminal group»a type of criminal organizations that, according to the then acting director of the FBI Brian Driscoll in 2025, were dedicated, among other things, to break into homes and rob jewelry stores and sellers.

«The objective of these bands is illegally sell illicitly obtained goods or send them abroad, and their profits—along with the consequent demand for stolen items on the black market—fuel the cycle of violent crime,» Driscoll had argued on that occasion, during a podcast broadcast by the FBI itself.

Yanina Marcela Ruiz is a criminal illegal alien from Argentina and South American Theft Group member with convictions for LARCENY, GRAND THEFT and DUI — plus an extensive rap sheet full of arrests, including multiple for alleged domestic violence.

As indicated in the publication this Wednesday, at the time of being caught, Ruiz was already detained in a police station for another reason and the Los Angeles ERO was aware of the situation.

For this reason, knowing that she would eventually be released by local authorities, immigration officers stood guard outside the building and waited for her to leave.

From the ERO they indicated that, after her arrest, the Argentine woman was «in ICE custody awaiting her deportation.»
