The case of the bakery located in 3 y 64which gained notoriety after the tragic death of the merchant Carlos Galvanadds a new and worrying chapter. While the criminal justice system advances with the investigation, it was confirmed that a resident of the city also tested positive for Salmonella after consuming the same product: potato omelette.

In the last few hours, a neighbor who gave testimony but did not reveal her name for security reasons, had to be hospitalized urgently after presenting an acute condition of vomiting, diarrhea and fever. The timeline of the incident coincides with the previous case:
- Sunday March 8: The victim bought a tortilla at the “La Ideal” store.

- Monday March 9: He woke up feeling generally unwell and attended the Diagnostic Institute.
- The result: Laboratory analyzes confirmed the presence of Salmonella bacteria, the same bacteria that ended the life of Galván, owner of the historic fishing house at 1 and 64.

Controversy over the closure and defense of the premises
Despite the seriousness of the situation and the closure order issued by the health authorities after the death of the merchant, the bakery was involved in an unusual event: It violated the closure zone and reopened its doors.
From the commerce they tried to define responsibilities, ensuring through statements that «the problem did not come from our facilities». However, the accumulation of cases with the same epidemiological link—the purchase of tortillas locally—complicates their legal situation.

The case reaches the Criminal Justice

Currently, the final results of the laboratory tests on the samples taken at the premises are awaited to reliably confirm whether there was cross contamination or lack of cold chain in the ingredients used.
