The city had its march to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the coup d’état in Argentina, in a day full of participation and cultural activities.
In the run-up to the Day of Remembrance for Truth and Justice, La Plata was the scene of a massive mobilization to remember the 50th anniversary of the last civil-military coup. The call brought together social and political organizations, unions, cultural spaces and neighbors who came to participate in a day of memory and reflection.

The meeting point was Plaza San Martín, where different activities were previously carried out. Among them, photographic exhibitions of missing persons in the region, artistic interventions such as «Where are they? We make them present» and exhibitions linked to the construction of collective memory stood out.
There were also proposals at the Ex-Comisaría Quinta Memory Site, with the exhibition “Build active memory”, and a discussion at the Teatro Argentino, which were part of a broader agenda in the city.
From Plaza San Martín, the protesters began the traditional march through the center of La Plata. The tour was marked by slogans, posters, handkerchiefs and artistic expressions that reaffirmed the demand for memory, truth and justice.
Unity and vigil in a day full of memory
The mobilization once again showed strong unity in the city, in the prelude to the historic national march that takes place every year in Plaza de Mayo.
After the march, the “Memory Expo” was opened at Casa Abierta, while the closing of the day took place with a vigil organized by the Provincial Commission for Memory in the Berisso Civic Park.
In this way, La Plata once again reaffirmed its commitment to collective memory on a key date in Argentine history.
