Altieri Wines held the “Women of Malbec DOC” meeting

Within the framework of International Women’s Day, Altieri Wines brought together winery leaders from the DOC Lujan of Cuyo for a tasting that highlighted the diversity of Malbec and the role of women in the industry. The “Women of Malbec DOC” meeting brought together nine women—mostly winemakers—from wineries that are members of the appellation, with the aim of recognizing and making visible their work within Argentine wine.

A space to honor those who maintain the identity of the territory

During the opening, Cecilia Buj, owner of Altieri Wineshighlighted the significance of the initiative: «Within the framework of International Women’s Day, we wanted to create this space to honor those who are part of the Luján de Cuyo DOC. It is not just a certification of origin, but the expression of a territory with identity, which is sustained over time thanks to the commitment of those of us who believe in the value of the place and the authenticity of its wines» .

And he added: “It is a pride to open this space so that the voices of these women and their wines can dialogue with you, communicators of Argentine wine” .

The protagonists: nine women, nine wineries, nine looks

The DOC Lujan of Cuyo was the first in America and is based on the voluntary association of winegrowers and producers in the region. Its objective is to preserve and promote the distinctive characteristics of the terroir, guaranteeing quality wines with their own identity. At the moment, 21 bodegas make up this denomination.
