Under the slogan that «While the National Government withdrew assistance from community kitchens, officials became richer»the protesters made visible the recent controversy surrounding a property in said country. According to various complaints and journalistic records, it is a two-story house that would have been remodeled to new and that would not appear in the official’s last sworn declaration of assets.
The focus of the conflict: Lot 380
The controversy escalated after it became known that the expenses for the property—which would amount to $700,000—are in the name of Adorni’s wife, Bettina Angeletti. Preliminary investigations suggest that the ownership of the land would have been signed at the end of 2024, with an estimated market value between 130,000 and 250,000 dollarsdepending on the improvements made.
Representative Marcela Pagano recently expanded a complaint for illicit enrichment against the Chief of Staff, requesting Justice to investigate the origin of the funds for the purchase and renovation of the home, as well as the alleged omission of this asset before the Anti-Corruption Office.
Neighborhood reaction
The escrache not only generated political noise, but also unrest among the residents of the exclusive neighborhood. It turned out that Adorni himself would have had to intervene in the neighbors’ WhatsApp group to try to calm things down in the presence of the protest and the reinforced police guard at the access.
