The leadership made the decision after the 0-3 draw against Huracán. Ariel Pereyra will take over on an interim basis for the Argentine Cup duel.
Gimnasia decided to end the cycle of Fernando Zaniratto as first team coach, after tough 3-0 defeat against Huracán in the forest. The determination was communicated this Monday morning in Estancia Chica, after meetings between the main members of the leadership headed by Carlos Anacleto and the sports secretary Germán Brunati.
The end of the cycle comes in the middle of a very weak present. In the last six games, the team barely achieved a victory, has three consecutive defeats and has accumulated four games without winning at home, a streak that ended up tipping the balance.

The campaign left the team far from qualifying for the Apertura Tournament playoffs. With 12 points at stake, Gimnasia is three units behind Huracán, precisely the rival that beat it in the last presentation.
Interim appointment and search for a new coach
On an interim basis, the Reserve technician, Ariel Pereyrawill take charge of the team and will direct Thursday’s match against Camioneros for the Argentine Cup, which will be played on the Banfield field.
The intention of the leadership is to define the new coach in the coming days, with the idea that he takes over on Monday, when the team visits Sarmiento in Junín for the local tournament.
With this scenario, Gimnasia opens a new stage at a key moment of the season, forced to react quickly so as not to be left out of the fight for classification.
