This April 11, 2026, the National University of La Plata proclaimed Fernando Tauber as its new president, after obtaining the unanimous support of the 270 members of the University Assembly. The result marks an unprecedented event in the history of the institution, which exceeds 120 years of experience.

The Assembly was held in the auditorium of the Faculty of Psychology and lasted more than seven hours.
