In a special session held this Thursday, the La Plata Deliberative Council gave the green light to a series of declarations of municipal interest and personal distinctions that seek to highlight the commercial, cultural and social trajectory of different figures and entities in the city.
Commerce and Culture: from City Bell to the center of La Plata
One of the highlights was the recognition of the City Bell Pinocchio Bookstorewhich celebrates its 60th anniversary. This historic business was declared of Municipal Interest due to its role as a cultural reference in the northern area.
Along the same lines, the 17 years of the shopping center were distinguished Rodrigo Passage and the eighth edition of the gastronomic festival “Author’s dish Italy Argentina”. The event also received the declaration of Cultural Interest “Juntada festival – 5 years of Greyhound”consolidating support for La Plata meeting spaces.
Letters and social commitment
In the literary field, books were declared of Municipal Interest «Arturo Illia. My father» y “Recover the Malvinas”the latter by federal judge Alejo Ramos Padilla. In addition, the Council highlighted the work of the university professor Claudia Rodriguezrecognized for its territorial and containment work in vulnerable neighborhoods and peripheral settlements.
Sport and personal distinctions
La Plata sport had its space with the declaration of Outstanding Personality for the boxer Hector Luis Patri and for Carlos Alberto Castro. On the artistic and technical level, Whilmer David León Reyes, Gabriel Rodríguez Molina and the renowned filmmaker and droner were distinguished. Adrian Campanelli.
Finally, the session included post-mortem tributes for Professor Marta Duarte and for the former Secretary General of ATULP, Raúl Archuby, in addition to recognizing the work of the athlete Mara Gómez.
