A motorist, who wanted prevent two motorcycle jets from stealing his motorcycle a man in a neighborhood of San Pablo, died when one of the robbers shot him in the head and he killed him instantly.
The tragic event occurred on Thursday night on Rua das Margaridas Amarelas, in the São Paulo neighborhood of Vila Calú, when Alisson Oliveira de Jesus, 42 years old, he was returning from training and heading home.
On the way to his house, in the south of São Paulo, Oliveira de Jesus was in his car when he witnessed two thieves on a motorcycle trying to rob a man, who was also on a motorcycle.
The motorcyclist managed to escape, but began to be chased by the two assailants. Upon realizing the situation, Oliveira de Jesus tried to intervene and attacked the motochorros, throwing them violently against a wall.
The car passed over the assailants’ motorcycle and, due to the force of the impact, was embedded in the wall of an informal bar. The two thieves managed to stand up and, before escaping, one of them shot Oliveira de Jesus in the head, causing his death instantly.
«Alisson did something that I will never forget. I will never forget it. At 28 years old, this had never happened to me. They didn’t even try to rob me. He was a hero. He was more than a hero. I hope that God has seen him, recognized him and is now at his side,» said Thiago Lopes, grateful for having saved his life, in an interview with the digital site g1.
Lopes, who is a salesman and had gone out to deliver a product, left some advice for anyone who suffers a situation like this.
«The guy, in an act of bravery, well… He died… He didn’t have to do it. He didn’t have to do it. I was going to let them take my motorcycle. My motorcycle has insurance, it has a GPS locator. I was going to look for it. Don’t react to a robbery. Don’t react. There are other ways to resolve this,» he declared.
In a statement, the San Pablo Civil Police reported that they are investigating the man’s death as a case of robbery with homicide, while they seek to identify those responsible and clarify the facts.
According to the police, the motorcycle used by the two thieves – which they left abandoned at the scene during their escape – had an altered license plate, making it difficult to identify. Crews are looking for video footage and witnesses who can help locate the suspects.
Oliveira de Jesus was originally from Minas Gerais and had lived in São Paulo for approximately a year, where he worked as a production supervisor at the Votorantim Cimentos plant in Itapecerica da Serra. He had two daughters.
