Carla Calabrese announces from London the return of her praised and award-winning production of “The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time”

A few hours ago, in the halls of the exclusive Ritz Hotel in London, the Argentine producer, director and actress Carla Calabrese signed the agreement with the theatrical representatives of “The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time” to bring back to Buenos Aires the multi-award-winning play by Simon Stephens, based on the famous novel of the same name by Mark Haddon. The premiere will be Thursday June 18, 2026 in the Lino Patalano room at the Maipo Theater (Esmeralda 443, CABA), and tickets are now available through Plateanet and at the theater box office.

An expected return for the theatrical event of the year

The work, which in 2019 became a critical and public event under the direction of Calabrese, sold out every performance and received a standing ovation at every performance. Now, with a renewed versionthe production promises to repeat—and surpass—that phenomenon. The functions will extend from Thursday to Sundaywith a luxury cast headed again by Iñaki Aldao in the leading role, along with Mela Lenoir, Andrés Bagg, Pablo Sultani and a great acting team.

A luxury cast and award-winning direction

Carla Calabrese, who had already been responsible for the acclaimed 2019 production, returns to lead the general direction and production. The new version maintains the essence that captivated thousands of viewers, but incorporates scenic and dramaturgical novelties that promise to deepen the emotion and complexity of the central character, Christopher Boone, a teenager with a unique perception of the world.

“The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time” is the acclaimed stage adaptation by the British playwright Simon Stephens from the novel of the same name Mark Haddonpublished in 2003 and become a global publishing phenomenon. The original work obtained 7 Olivier Awardsincluding Best New Play, and its Broadway version was awarded with 5 Premios Tonyincluding Best Work.

In Argentina, the first version of Calabrese (2019) was nominated for 7 ACE Awardsconsolidating itself as one of the theatrical milestones of the last decade.

Synopsis

Christopher Boone is 15 years old and is a mathematical genius, but he has a hard time understanding the world of emotions. When he discovers the body of his neighbor’s dog impaled on a pitchfork, he decides to investigate the mystery for himself, even though his parents, his teacher, and all the adults insist that he shouldn’t get involved. What follows is a surprising journey that challenges convention and reveals a moving truth about family, trust, and the value of being different.
