The Obelisk, the Puente de la Mujer, the Floralis Genérica and other historical icons of the City of Buenos Aires were illuminated in cyan during the night of May 13 to commemorate the 60 years of CILSAone of the most important social organizations in the country in terms of inclusion and disability.
The initiative, promoted together with the Public Spaces area, transformed different emblematic points of the city into a visual intervention aimed at making visible the work that the NGO has been carrying out for six decades.
A city dyed the color of inclusion
Starting at 8 p.m., emblematic sites such as the Obelisk, the Puente de la Mujer, the Floralis Genérica, the National Congress, the Monumental Tower, the Lezama Palace and the Monument of the Spanish were illuminated with cyan, the representative color of CILSA.

The action was carried out within the framework of the 60th anniversary of the organization, founded in Santa Fe on May 14, 1966, whose main mission is promote the full inclusion of people with disabilities and socially vulnerable sectors.

Recognition in the Senate
Hours before the lighting of the monuments, CILSA received important institutional recognition from the Honorable Senate of the Argentine Nation.
The NGO, chaired by Silvia Carranza, She was awarded the Honor Diploma “for her outstanding career, commitment to inclusion and solidarity work.”
The ceremony took place in the Blue Room of the Senate and was organized by national senator Florencia López.
Furthermore, on May 22, the Legislature of the Autonomous City of Buenos Aires will also honor the organization in the Golden Hall, in an initiative promoted by Leandro Santoro.
Six decades of inclusion and social work
Throughout its 60 years of history, CILSA developed social, educational and sports programs throughout the country, with figures that reflect the scope of its solidarity work.
Among its main achievements, the organization highlights:
- More than 70 thousand wheelchairs and orthopedic elements delivered free of charge to people with disabilities and low resources.
- More than 118 thousand talks and workshops on disability and inclusion in schools, companies and organizations.
- The accompaniment to more than 1,400 athleteswho won more than 170 national and international titles.
- More than 19 thousand educational scholarships and job training intended for people with disabilities.
- The participation of 2,400 volunteers in solidarity and community actions.
Santa Fe also joins the celebrations
Anniversary celebrations will also continue in the city of Santa Fe, where the organization was born.
In this framework, a day of recreation, sports, awareness and free delivery of orthopedic elements will be held on the historic “Ing. Marcial Candioti” Hanging Bridge, one of the most recognized symbols of the capital of Santa Fe.
