At first glance, penal codes, courts and art seem irreconcilable universes. However, there are personalities with an extraordinary capacity to inhabit duality with absolute excellence.. That is the case of Hernán Simóa 36-year-old from Godoicruceño who achieves the impossible: managing a prestigious law firm in California remotely while consolidating a meteoric international career as a visual artist, pianist and composer.
“I feel like I can share law and art, without either of us getting jealous.”shoots Dr. Simó, using his characteristic sense of humor.
The Lawyer of the Year who debates Artificial Intelligence
His double facet is earning him global recognition. Recently, an evaluation committee distinguished him as Lawyer of the Year 2025 in California, United States. After receiving the news, he traveled to San Francisco to raise the award given by the organization LexTalk World within which he gave a keynote lecture on a key topic on the current agenda: Artificial Intelligence (AI) in the world of law.

«I spoke about the challenges that native lawyers face in AI. Because I noticed in the study that many junior lawyers were using AI without guidance or any guidance to overcome the challenges they were facing in the cases they took on. explains the professional, creator of the verified Instagram account @hernansimo.digitalart.

From Doha to Barcelona: «The Messi of digital art»
Recognition in law came almost in parallel with artistic recognition.. A month later, Simó won the award Best Digital Art Award thanks to his work «Rivers of Wisdom» at the Qatar International Art Festival (QIAF 2025), held in Doha with creators from more than 70 countries.
The geographical coincidence awakened his most Argentine side: “Having someone so far from my homeland recognize my work was an amazing experience.”. Especially because it was in the same city where we became world champions. When they gave me the cup I remembered Messi (whom I have always admired) and I felt like the Messi of digital art” he confesses with a laugh, without losing sight of the fact that this distinction places him squarely in the window of emerging artists on the planet..
A path of excellence and a leap into the void through art
Son of a lawyer and a doctor from Cuyo, Hernán’s life was always marked by intensity, effort and a deep spirituality.. His academic and professional career is, to tell the truth, a collection of formidable milestones:
- Gold medal: He graduated as a lawyer from the National University of Cuyo in seven years, obtaining the Best Graduate Award with a general average of 9,56.
- Musical instinct: He studied guitar at the age of 10, he was a student of Carlos Graña (producer of The Tipitos) and completed the piano teaching course.
- European Excellence: In 2017 he completed a Master’s in Business Administration at the European Business School in Barcelona, graduating with an average of 9,65.
- Fiscal a los 29: After entering the Mendoza Judiciary by examination, he was sworn in as Substitute Civil Prosecutor and, after twelve months, he was appointed Prosecutor with the agreement of the provincial senate.
- Scholarship in the USA: In the middle of the pandemic (2020), the University of Dayton School of Law He was awarded a scholarship for an online Master of Laws, where he received with honors and an unusual GPA: 4.11 out of a maximum of 4.
The day that changed everything

In July 2023, while leading high-profile legal cases, Simó decided to face the «California Bar Exam»the exam that Americans take to enroll in that state, considered the most difficult in the entire United States. After taking a grueling twelve and a half hour exam divided into two days (6 cases and 200 questions), he passed with a score suitable for transfer to any North American state..
There appeared the great dilemma: the comfort of a guaranteed career in the Judiciary until retirement or the international private sector to make room for his great love.. On December 6, 2023, Dr. Simó wrote his unavoidable resignation as Prosecutor before the Attorney General of Mendoza. It was a completely unusual resignation for a young magistrate with the approval of the Senate, but the objective was clear: prioritize your artistic career.
“I like that people know that the path was not linear and that behind each of these experiences there were also moments of shadows, of fatigue, of falling and getting back up.”. “Much of my work is inspired by the spiritual and our connection with God.”.
Royal Connection: From Crete to Monaco
After having consolidated his European projection in Barcelona with his first individual exhibition, «Fragments of Light» (curated by Erika Tranchida and Aliarte Art Gallery) Simó’s next destination is one of absolute mysticism and exclusivity.
Of the May 23 to 25the artist will be part of the sixth edition of the Select Art Fair on the paradise island of Crete, Greece a meeting point that brings together diplomats, collectors and distinguished guests from all over the world. There he will present “Soul Journey”a proposal of 10 works that invites you to explore the journey of the soul. This is a special milestone as it is the first exhibition completely curated by him.
He arrived at this select European circuit through a purely contemporary route: the Count of Brasschaat and Duke of Geraní in GreeceThomas Andre Louis Maes (Ph.D. in Modern and Contemporary Art), discovered Hernán’s works through Instagram. Fascinated by the visual language of the man from Mendoza, he sent him a certificate of achievement and the formal invitation both for the appointment in Greece and for an upcoming international exhibition in the Principality of Monacoscheduled from September 11 to 13.
Currently, while attending to cases of North American clients remotely through his tablet and cell phone Hernán Simó prepares an album for piano of contemporary music and classical fusion (with six songs already registered in SADAIC) composes in English and designs his next visual collections.
With a tattoo on his right arm that reads the word «LIVE» the talented lawyer and artist demonstrates that professional limits are in the past and that versatility, faith and passion are the true driving force of 21st century art.
