A man who claims to know the identity of the kidnappers of Nancy Guthrie He contacted the American media again TMZ with a new communication in which he claims to have key evidence stored on a phone: a video of the victim with the «main guy» on the day that was probably his last alivephotos of both involved, names, addresses and ages.
TMZ verified that the email comes from the same sender as the previous messages, via an old Bitcoin address that matches the one previously registered and a consistently used alias.
The media did not reveal the identity of the informant, whose veracity remains without official confirmation.
The mother of the NBC host Savannah Guthrie She disappeared in the early morning of February 1, 2026, after her family last saw her the night before, after dinner at their home in Tucson, Arizona.
The next day, when he did not appear at church, his family reported him missing. Authorities found his house with open doors, intact belongings and blood stains. The case was treated from the beginning as a kidnapping.
In his new message, the sender assured: «I have a phone stored in a safe place that guarantees both the information it contains and the security of the device.»
He described the contents as «my definition of handing them over on a silver platter» and noted that the phone is in «an easy place to get to if you know where it is.» For accessing the device’s password, he demanded payment of a Bitcoin to a new cryptocurrency address.
The informant also denied that he was the one who called to report an alleged burial site in Mexico, a tip that authorities received separately. Furthermore, he appeared to mock the report of the FBI which suggested that the author of the emails could be a woman. The number of kidnappers, according to him, is two, a fact that he had already announced in previous messages.

Given this new demand, TMZ responded publicly that it will not pay until the tipster sends at least one screenshot showing Nancy Guthrie, as a way to authenticate the existence of the material. The outlet also confirmed that it forwarded the email to the FBI.
The case accumulates weeks of communications that authorities considered potentially authentic. A first note demanded millions of dollars in cryptocurrency in exchange for returning Nancy alive. A second, confirmed by CNNnoted that the 84-year-old woman had died shortly after the abduction and that her death had not been intentional.
It was in that context that Savannah Guthrie spoke on the Today show. «I just wanted to take the opportunity to ask people, to really… beg people to step forward, someone knows something,» the host said in front of the cameras. She then added that she and her family were going through «agony» and could not «be at peace.»
