Paul McCartney -one of the pillars of The Beatles and with the title of knight granted by the british crown– has always been faithful to one philosophy of life what is he looking for welfare and the emotional balance first of all.
In this sense, in the first book of poems and lyrics that he published in 2011, he shared a moving idea and that can function as a refuge for bad times.
On one of its pages, as compiled in a note from the Spanish site OK Diario, it indicated: “Sadness is not sadness, it is happiness with a black jacket.”
His reflection did not end there. The following lines rounded out his idea: «Tears are not tears, they are balls of laughter dipped in salt. Death is not death, it is life that jumped from a high cliff.»
The sorrows for McCartney
These fragments, following the OK Diario note, allow us to see that for McCartney the sadness It is not something exclusively negative.

Quite the opposite. According to your vision, sorrows would be an extension of happinessan emotion that retains its essence even when it is tinged with loss or nostalgia.
In the same way, the ex Beatle associated the tears with joy. On the other hand, the most sensitive point is that it takes death as a continuity of life.
