Recently, a gato just 10 months old called Toby Henderson was recognized by the organization Records World Cups Guinnesssince it equaled the title of cat with more fingers, which Jake also owns, a gato polydactyl from Canada.

Toby is American and lives with his owner Delaney Henderson, who spoke with Guinness and revealed details of this strange animal.

Despite its particular legs, it has a behavior very similar to common cats.

The story of Toby Henderson, the cat with 28 fingers

Toby, the cat 28 fingers, He lives with his owner in a home in Lansing, Michigan. Additionally, there, she shares her days with Connie, a polydactyl cat who has two extra toes on her front paws and who has been part of the family for years.

Delaney said she found Toby through a group of rescueafter searching everywhere for a feline friend for Connie. He also specified that, when he adopted him, he did not know about his extra fingers, and that when he realized it he knew that it was the ideal animal to accompany his cat.

“When I first saw his fingers, I couldn’t believe my eyes!” Delaney told Guinness. “As I have another polydactyl cat, I expected him to have extra thumbs, but nothing had prepared me for seeing Toby’s paws,” she added.

Despite Toby’s particularity, the owner quickly fell madly in love with his sweet face. Delaney revealed that in his first few months, the cat was shy and apprehensive, and it took him a while to adjust to his new surroundings. However, he said, he is now a super energetic and playful pet.

A cat full of energy

According to his owner, Toby uses furniture as a springboard and pounces on everything in his path. His biggest motivation is food: he bites through the packaging and howls for food as soon as the pantry door opens.

However, he also has his loving side. “When he’s not full of energy, he’s a real baby,” Delaney said. «He loves cuddles, he purrs whenever you touch him and he falls asleep between my legs every time I’m on the couch. He’s a kitten very special and sweetand we are very lucky to have him in our family,” he summarized.

Delaney said she is often asked if Toby’s 28 toes cause the cat to behave differently or have health problems. To this, the woman is pleased to answer no. “He is in perfect health, he is a normal kitten without any problems,” he explained.

However, he likes to believe that his extra fingers give him special abilities to pounce on prey.

Likewise, the owner described what the cat’s relationship with Connie is like. According to what he said, Toby’s «sister» is the one who knows how to set limits for him when he behaves very crazy. «They love to play non-stop and chase each other. Plus, she is a very special cat, and the perfect firstborn!» he explained.

Delaney encourages others to adopt a pet, saying the experience changed her life. “Having these two kittens has really changed my life for the better. “They have become the best emotional support for everyone in our house and always bring joy and love to everyone they meet,” he concluded.
