The FBI arrested Khalid Ahmed Sataryaccused of leading a conspiracy that fraudulently billed 547 million dollars to the federal Medicare health program between 2016 and 2019.
The capture, carried out through a joint operation with international partners, makes Satary the third detainee of the «Most Wanted Fraudsters» program since its launch, just five weeks ago, according to reports Fox News.
Satary had an order federal arrest since 2022, when he violated the conditions of his provisional freedom. He had been charged in 2019 before the Federal Court of the Southern District of Florida and had been on the run for almost three years at the time of his arrest. The case is in the hands of the FBI office in Miami.
According to the investigation, the scheme relied on deceptive marketing campaigns, illegal kickbacks and kickbacks to generate fraudulent claims to Medicare.
The indictment alleges that thousands of elderly patients were manipulated into undergoing costly and medically unnecessary genetic testing.

After his arrest in Middle EastSatary was transferred to US soil on Tuesday morning and appeared before federal justice that same afternoon.
Three catches in one month
FBI Director Kash Patel framed the case within a broader context of pursuing crimes against taxpayers.
«The arrest of Khalid Ahmed Satary and his return to the United States is the third arrest on the FBI and our partners’ Most Wanted Fraudsters list in just five weeks, continuing the historic streak of success of this new initiative,» Patel stated.
Last month, Said Abdullahi Eregformer owner of a supermarket and delicatessen in Minneapolis, turned himself in to federal authorities. Ereg is accused of fraudulently obtaining more than $4.2 million from the Federal Child Nutrition Program during the COVID-19 pandemic.
A week later, the FBI arrested Herbert Leon Kimble60 years old, in the Philippines, after he remained a fugitive for nearly two years. Kimble faces charges of organizing a $1.2 billion Medicare fraud conspiracy.
