An unusual accident in the town of Bovisio Masciago, northern Italy, ended with three vehicles collided after a snail caused a short circuit in the electronic system of a traffic light, local media report.
The ruling left the intersection with green light in both directions and caused confusion among drivers, reports RT.
The incident occurred at the intersection of two streets where two cars collided head on and a third was hit by the debris from the impact. No injuries were reported, although traffic was interrupted for several hours.

The incredible reason
The technical expertise revealed that snail slime had damaged the electronic board of the traffic light, which caused the simultaneous failure of the signals, indicates RT.
Municipal technicians explained that the system did not activate the emergency mode (which should change the lights to flashing) and kept the green in both directions, dice RT.
Local police intervened to divert traffic and supervise repairs. The traffic light, meanwhile, returned to normal operation hours later.
