BPW Biarritz celebrated its annual closing with recognitions and the Candle Ceremony
The annual year-end event of BPW Biarritz – Business and Professional Women, an entity with consultative status in UN Women, was held in the historic setting of Villa Mitre, with an outstanding gathering of members, institutional representatives and the international press.
Villa Miter is part of the group of the few large residences built in the so-called Loma del Tiro de la Paloma since 1908. Built in 1931, owned by Angiolina Astengo de Mitre, daughter of an Italian diplomat accredited in Buenos Aires and widow since she was young of the engineer Emilio Mitre, son of the general, the villa is one of the large chalets in the city.
The meeting was chaired by the President of BPW Biarritz Tania Garcés, the President of the Argentine Federation of BPW Olga Ahumada, and the Latin American Coordinator Paula Viñals.
During the day, new members were introduced and the Women’s Code 7600 distinctions were awarded to Cris Moyano, Ángeles Marset and Alicia Bräuning.

Within the framework of the Candle Ceremony, Bernardo Martin, Mariana Gérez, Patricia Garciarena, Paula Viñals, Graciela Vespoli, Luisa Alis, Fernando Rizzi, Cecilia Consani, José María Ulla, Tatiana Zapata Torres, Alejandra Civiera, Loreto Yeomans, María Carreras, Mariel Farías, María del Carmen González, Nora Colares, Sandra were distinguished for their different work and careers. Maddonni, Claudia Casalongue, Marta Sol Bendaham, Juan Matías Stati, Romina Laura Cappuccio and Architect Laura Romero, along with special recognition to the institutions Club Biarritz, Club Victoria Ocampo and Club Friends.

The meeting was especially decorated by a performance by María Carreras, with the participation of the actresses. Susana Bauzada, Marta Bono, Belén Martínez Alba, Rodrigo, Beatriz Boado, Sandra Gricolo, Silvina Gonzalia, Domi Bono, Martina Salto, Lala Caione and Adriana Carrera, who performed texts from the play “Con el fuego en las manos”, which will premiere on Monday, January 5 at 7 p.m. in Villa Victoria, under the lime tree.
