Bullrich accuses Villarruel of being a ‘Peronist’ and deepens the official fracture

Red-hot internal: Bullrich labels Villarruel a “Peronist” and shakes the small table

What began as a protocol distance became an open battle for the identity of the Government. The Minister of Security, Patricia Bullrichlaunched one of his strongest statements to date, marking a dividing line that seems to have no return: he placed the vice president Victoria Villarruel closer to the «path of Peronism» than to the ideas of radical change proposed by the Executive.

Patricia’s «peronometer»

In his last statements, Bullrich did not spare any qualifications. When analyzing the Vice President’s movements in the Senate and her recent gestures of political autonomy, the Minister was blunt: «She is taking a course that is foreign to us. «It goes more along the path of Peronism, of that policy of accommodation that we came to fight.».

This phrase is not coincidental. In the language of the ruling party, calling someone a «Peronist» is the maximum disqualification and the previous step to total political isolation. Bullrich, consolidated as the «defending sword» of Javier Milei’s management, seeks with this to close ranks around the President and leave Villarruel on a political island.

The reasons for the fracture

Behind the media darts, there are strategic reasons that explain this siege:

  • The Senate’s own agenda: Villarruel has maintained dialogues with sectors of the opposition that the Casa Rosada views with distrust.
  • The institutional profile: While Bullrich embodies direct confrontation and «all or nothing», the Vice President cultivates a more conservative and traditional profile, with well-oiled ties with the Armed Forces and sectors of nationalism that do not always coincide with pure libertarianism.
  • The succession: Those around Bullrich believe that Villarruel is «building his own project» for the future, something they consider a betrayal in the midst of the current crisis.

Towards a cabinet without a Vice President?

The fence is not just verbal. In recent official events and cabinet meetings, Villarruel’s presence has been increasingly limited. The objective of Bullrich—and other sectors of the “iron triangle” in Olivos—is to make it clear that leadership is unique and that there is no room for parallel agendas.

To VIVEthis conflict raises a key question: Can the Government sustain governability in Congress if the relationship between its two most important figures in that chamber is broken?
