Buenos Aires recovers a piece of its nocturnal soul with the reopening of Cátulo, the legendary tango house located in the heart of Abasto. From this Tuesday December 9the space reopens its doors at Tomás Manuel Anchorena 647 with a renewed proposal that bets on both tango and other popular Argentine rhythms, seeking to conquer both tourists and the local public.

A renewed proposal for all tastes
Cátulo’s new stage comes with a broad vision of Argentine music. Roberto Zuccarinoowner of the place, explained the bet: “We work to make Cátulo a beacon of tango, but also a new space for the national music that identifies us”. The weekly programming reflects this diversity:
- From Tuesday to Friday: The nights will be dedicated to tangowith a renewed show that will feature a cast of 17 artists on stage under the musical direction of Pablo Valle. The objective is to reinstate Cátulo as the reference for the Buenos Aires nightlife that foreign visitors seek.
- Weekends: The room will change rhythm. The Saturdays will be for the cumbia and tropical music (starting with “El Mago y La Nueva”), while the sundays at noon will be dedicated to folklorewith the special participation of groups such as Pampas Bravas.
Recovering an icon for the city
The reopening of Cátulo is not only the return of a venue, but the recovery of a typical and traditional space of Buenos Aires culture. Zuccarino highlighted that the place “It will cover a segment that does not currently exist in Argentina”offering a comprehensive live music experience that goes beyond tango. This initiative seeks to position Abasto as a vibrant and diverse cultural destination, where the most classic essence of Buenos Aires coexists with the rhythms that move the country today.
