The artist from Jujuy became a trend again, but this time not for a hit, but for promoting a necessary change in the Civil Code. The project seeks to ensure that dependent mothers (and fathers) do not depend on the permission of an absent parent for basic procedures such as travel or education.

What began as a media conflict between Cazzu and Christian Nodaltoday climbs to the halls of the Argentine Congress. Under the name of «Fucking Law»Senator Carlos Linares, together with the organization AMBA Feminist Lawyerspresented a bill that seeks to return autonomy to those who support the daily care of their children.
What is it about?
The initiative points to a critical point of the current bureaucracy: the parental responsibility. Today, if a parent fails to comply with their obligations (such as paying child support or visitation), they still have the power to «block» everyday decisions.
The witness case: Cazzu reported that, after their separation, she had to repeatedly go to court so that her daughter Inti could travel with her abroad, due to Nodal’s refusal to sign the permits.
The numbers in Argentina
The problem is not just for celebrities. According to UNICEF data, in our country Nearly 70% of parents obliged to pay child support do not do so in a timely manner.
In the City of Buenos Aires and the suburbs, this translates into a form of economic and vicarious violence: mothers who cannot get a passport, change their children’s schools or authorize a medical intervention without the «ok» of someone who is not present on a daily basis.
Key points of the project:
- Provisional suspension: It seeks to allow the suspension of parental responsibility when there is serious non-compliance.
- Priority to the best interests of the child: Facilitate identity (passport), travel and health procedures without the need for authorization from the absent parent.
- Visibility of Vicarious Violence: Name the use of children as «hostages» to harm the mother.
The impact on networks
The move already has its digital correlate. In Change.orga petition in support of this reform already has more than 37 thousand signatureswith testimonies that are repeated: «My son’s father saw him once in his life and now he is blocking my permission to travel on vacation».
What Cazzu exposed in the media is the structural reality of millions of single-parent households headed by women who, in addition to the economic weight, carry legal obstacles that seem designed for another century.
