Estudiantes beat Rosario Central 3-0 and advanced in the Argentine Cup

Pincha won 3-0 in Córdoba and advanced to the round of 16 of the Argentine Cup. With goals from Guido Carrillo, Tiago Palacios and Mikel Amondaraín, Alexander Medina’s team went into the break with a great image.

After the agonizing qualification to the round of 16 of the Copa Libertadores against Independiente Medellín, Students He had a new test of character against Rosario Central at the Mario Alberto Kempes stadium in Córdoba, for the round of 16 of the Argentine Cup. And he surpassed it with authority.

Alexander Medina’s team presented the best they had at their disposal and formed with Iacovich; Meza, Núñez, González Pírez, Palacios; Amondaraín, Pioví, Castro; Tiago Palacios, Carrillo and Tobio Burgos.

A devastating start

Estudiantes took center stage from the start and quickly found the advantage. A few minutes later, a run by Tiago Palacios ended in a precise cross for Guido Carrillo, who won with a header and established the 1-0 score.

With the result in their favor, Pincha managed the ball and the timing of the game. Rosario Central never managed to settle on the field and suffered from the high pressure of the red-and-white team.

Superiority was rewarded again at 24 minutes. Joaquín Tobio Burgos attacked the space behind the defense and generated a penalty that Tiago Palacios converted into a goal to widen the difference.

The team from La Plata controlled the match smoothly and went into the break with a deserved lead of two goals.

Full control and judgment in the plugin

In the second half, Estudiantes chose to give up part of the possession and take advantage of the spaces left by Rosario Central in their search for the discount.

The Rosario team had the ball, but they practically did not manage to worry Fabricio Iacovich, beyond some mid-distance shots that were well resolved by the red-haired goalkeeper.

Far from settling, Pincha continued to create situations and ended up finishing the match at the end. After a great filtered assist from Tiago Palacios, Mikel Amondaraín defined with class to establish the final 3-0.

A semester that ends on the rise

The victory left very positive feelings for Estudiantes. Beyond the result, the team showed solidity, intensity and an increasingly marked game identity under Medina’s leadership.

Tiago Palacios was one of the great figures of the afternoon, participating in all three goals, while Carrillo once again demonstrated his offensive weight and Amondaraín crowned an outstanding performance with his conquest.

With classification assured and a performance that invites optimism, Estudiantes closed the semester in the best way and will now have a few weeks of rest before returning to focus on the great objectives of the second semester: the Copa Libertadores and the Closing Tournament.
