In the Premier League, Manchester City are looking to close the gap on leaders Arsenal against defending champions Liverpool, who have struggled of late in the league. And it’s Pep Guardiola’s 1,000th game in charge during his entire career.
Earlier, Aston Villa thrashed in-form AFC Bournemouth 4-0 and Brentford beat Newcastle United 3-1. Sean Dyche’s Nottingham Forest also picked up a 3-1 win at home to Leeds United, while Brighton & Hove Albion travelled to Crystal Palace in tetchy game but could only draw 0-0.
Meanwhile, in Spain’s LaLiga, we have league leaders Real Madrid taking on Rayo Vallecano.
