Gaudí’s Sagrada Familia is closer to being completed

After the placement of the lower arm, the central core and the first two horizontal arms between October and November 2025, the monumental temple of the Sagrada Familia has installed the fourth horizontal arm, a few days after completing the third, the basilica has reported.

Like the others, the fourth arm follows the double rotation geometry characteristic of the set, with an octagonal shape at the inner end, which connects with the core, and a square shape at the outer end.

Each piece weighs approximately 12.8 tons and measures more than 4 meters on each side.

With the installation of this fourth arm the set is completed, before the placement of the upper arm and, inside, the sculpture of the «agnus dei» (lamb of God).

Once completed, the cross will have 17 meters high (equivalent to five floors) and 13.5 meters wide.

As Gaudí wanted the cross to shine during the day and give light at night, the glazed white ceramic and glasstwo materials that are resplendent and that at the same time resist atmospheric exposure, the Sagrada Familia has reported.
