Zaniratto’s team fell 3-0, their third consecutive loss and whistled in one of the worst performances of the year.
Gimnasia had an afternoon to forget in Bosque and fell without mitigation 3-0 against Huracán, in a match that left concern and a very tense atmosphere among the fans. The team never managed to get into the game, showed serious defensive shortcomings and once again left a very poor image.
The team led by Fernando Zaniratto added its third consecutive defeat and deepened its bad moment in the Apertura Tournament. Beyond some isolated situations, the team was widely surpassed by an opponent who struck at the right moments and managed the game with intelligence.
The first blow came 16 minutes into the first half, when Ignacio Campo opened the scoring. Already in the complement, Lucas Blondel extended the advantage at 20 minutes, and at the end, at 38, Jordy Caicedo sealed the final 3-0.
Huracán took advantage of every mistake and exposed the weaknesses of a Gimnasia that could not find answers. Not even the interventions of Hernán Galíndez nor the shots that hit the woodwork were enough to change a story that had always eluded Lobo.
A team without reaction and a cycle in doubt
Within a very low collective performance, only a few interventions stood out. Ignacio Fernandez in the game generation, too alone in that task, and the income of Maximiliano Zalazar, who provided some freshness on the left wing.
The rest was worry. Gimnasia never had clarity, lacked ideas and once again showed an alarming defensive fragility. People made it felt: there were insults and whistles at the end of the match, a clear sign of general unrest.
In terms of statistics, Huracán had a slight superiority in possession (51% against 49%), although the number of shots caught attention: Gimnasia registered 25 shots compared to 10 for Globo, evidencing the great efficiency of the visiting team. There were no expulsions during the match.
The moment is the most delicate of Zaniratto’s cycle, who did not give the usual press conference after the game. In this context, the leadership headed by Carlos Anacleto is beginning to question the coach’s continuity.
With the panorama open and without official confirmations, the coach would have one last opportunity to reverse the situation: the Argentine Cup duel against Camioneros, next Thursday on the Banfield field.
With this result, Huracán is in 8th place in Group B, momentarily getting into the qualification zone, while Gimnasia was in 11th position.
On the next date, Huracán will host Rosario Central on Sunday, April 12 at 5:30 p.m. at the Tomás Adolfo Ducó stadium. For its part, Gimnasia will visit Sarmiento de Junín on Monday the 13th at 4:30 p.m. at the Eva Perón stadium.
