The different experiences of his life led the artist to follow a path of alchemy that is reflected today in Metamorphosishis new musical project. In it he transmits resilience and sensitivity. In this interview, the American singer shares his art, his story and his unique way of connecting with the public.

With a voice that mixes connection with the soul, rhythm and sensitivity, Jalil López visited Buenos Aires for the first time as part of the presentation of his new album, Metamorphosis. The musician, born in Newark and with Puerto Rican and Honduran roots, brings with him a fresh proposal that fuses bachata, R&B and urban sounds with a very personal sensitivity.
Jalil López went viral thanks to a proposal as simple as it was powerful: going out into the streets to sing with his audience. From city to city, the artist shares his voice with his fans in spontaneous encounters that overflow with authenticity and emotion. It is in those moments, recorded with naturalness and closeness, where his talent and warmth truly connect. That energy—human, direct and without artifice—was what conquered the networks and transformed it into a viral phenomenon.

With this unique seal that characterizes him in contact with his audience, last Saturday he offered an acoustic show in front of the legendary Teatro Colón and also performed at the Obelisco, where a crowd of fans came to enjoy his live music.
Despite the rain, the energy of the artist and the warmth of the public turned the day into an unforgettable experience: more than ten songs, photos, autographs and even signed posters for his followers.
The birth of Metamorphosis
In this intimate talk with Latam Noticias, Jalil López shares his view on change, creation and human connection through art: “music is the language of the soul, and when honesty vibrates, it doesn’t matter where you come from: we all feel the same,” the singer-songwriter emphasizes.
«For many years I released single after single, but after it went viral I understood that the public needed more music. This is how Metamorfosis was born, an album with seven songs, five of them bachata, where I show my versatility,» highlights Jalil. The album represents a turning point: a closure and a rebirth. «Everyone has their own metamorphosis process. I have gone through a lot: I lost my mother at 15 and my father at 16. Music was my way of learning and healing. Now I feel that, like the butterfly, I have to fly.»
True to his friendly style, Jalil is committed to direct connection with people. «I go out into the streets, sing and talk to the public. That’s my way of promotion. It worked, because it’s authentic,» he explains. During his visit to Buenos Aires he was surprised by the warmth of the fans: «I didn’t expect it. More than a hundred people came, in the rain, and stayed there. That moved me.»
The album combines different rhythms, although bachata remains its hallmark. «I wanted to show that I can do everything, but without losing my essence. This is my moment to enjoy, connect and live the experience of singing live,» he says. For him, music is a form of shared transformation: «artists work hours, nights, weekends. All we want is for people to listen to our songs, to dance to them, to dedicate to them and for them to touch their hearts.»
He closes the interview with a phrase that summarizes his vital moment: «This is my process of metamorphosis, and now it’s my turn to fly. I want the public to fly with me.»
