According to what they have said from this Madrid business, the expansion works are already underway and the inauguration of its new «Neo-Tokyo» district is scheduled for end of this year. Akira Cómics will move from its current 1,080 square meters to more than 1,500 spread over two floors of more than 750 square meters each.
The expansion will be dedicated to manga, the «most diverse» narrative in terms of genres (Akira Comics).The store will redesign its facilities and the increase in the bookstore will increase its online sales workflow, as well as its «Stark Laboratory», a creative space conceived from the inspiration of similar places such as the one created at the time by the Spanish chef Ferrán Adrià, the Bullifoundation.

«We want the new ‘Neo-Tokyo’ district to not only be a place to meet and enjoy manga culture but also to constitute a sensory and immersive experience in line with the aforementioned other areas of our bookstore so that even visitors who are not familiar with the manga phenomenon or readers of other disciplines can get to know it and enjoy it as it deserves,» they explain from Akira Comics.
