The president Javier Miley This Monday he received his Chilean counterpart at the Casa Rosada, José Antonio Kastwhose ancestry has a past linked to Nazism.
The meeting sought to consolidate a political alliance in the region between two presidents who are very close ideologically and with positions aligned with the United States Government and the Israeli entity, whose Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu (who has a arrest warrant since 2024 by the International Criminal Court due to his war crimes in the occupation of Palestine) publicly celebrated Kast’s victory1.
The agenda covered topics such as the deepening of bilateral trade between the trans-Andean country and Argentina, the energy sector, security and the intensification of the regional alliance under administrations that embody the extreme right.
Kast is a devout Catholic and father of nine who opposes marriage equality, abortion and political correctness. The president’s electoral campaign has focused on migration, public safety and conservative social values.
A no less important fact is that his father, Michael Kast (born in Germany), was member of the nazi partywhich contradicts their own statements of the far-right president about his father’s military service during World War II.
Among the electoral proposals of the Chilean president are:
- the International Anti-Left Radical Coordination (whose purpose is »work with other Latin American governments to identify, arrest and prosecute radicalized agitators»)
- he increased penalties and sanctions to teenagers between 14 and 18 years old who commit serious crimes (similar to the new Argentine Juvenile Criminal Regime that lowered the age of imputability from 16 to 14)
- grant to Carabineros and Armed Forces »all the necessary tools for the restoration of public order, in order to avoid situations similar to what happened after October 18, 2019» (referring to social outbreak which encompassed the largest mobilizations since the end of the military dictatorship in 1990).
