Taiwan It will once again be one of the great stages in the world to say goodbye to the year. The iconic skyscraper Taipei 101 will headline the 2026 New Year celebrations with a high-impact audiovisual display that will combine art, music, technology and fireworks, and that can be seen live from different parts of the planet.
The main event will take place on December 31 and will feature a international live broadcast via satellite, making it one of the most impactful celebrations for global television. For the Argentine public, the event will be during the early hours of the morning, when Taiwan marks the beginning of the new year.
But the celebration will not be limited to a single night. under the name “SPARK 101”Taipei 101 has been developing a series of five consecutive days since Saturday, until January 1, 2026, with free activities that transform the most emblematic building on the island into a large urban setting.
Each night is inspired by one of four creative concepts: “Spark the Moment”, “Spark the Night”, “Spark the Love” and “Spark the Art”, designed to offer different experiences, fusing artistic interventions, monumental projections and live music.
Among the most striking moments are the projections of emblematic characters on the façade of the skyscraper, including a special tribute for 30 years of Toy Storywhich promises to capture the attention of adults and children in a visual spectacle designed for all audiences.
The key day will be December 31, when Taipei 101 becomes the epicenter of the countdown. Before the traditional fireworks show, a three-minute light show will be presented, titled “Taiwan’s Invisible Heroes”a moving tribute to the anonymous workers whose daily work keeps the city running.
That segment will give way to the expected fireworks showwhich will last six minutes and will be launched from the top of the building, in perfect synchronization with an original soundtrack composed by young Taiwanese talents, reinforcing the creative and contemporary spirit of the event.
Due to the eleven-hour time difference, the Argentine public will be able to follow the celebration starting at 12:40 in the morning on December 31, through the official live broadcast, distributed via satellite to the United States and Canada, with images that are usually replicated on signals and platforms around the world.
Once again, Taiwan is betting on saying goodbye to the year with a staging that combines innovation, emotion and spectacleand which consolidates Taipei 101 as one of the great global icons of the New Year celebration.
