Rapper Tekashi 6ix9ine returns to prison: he will share prison with Nicolás Maduro

Since yesterday, Daniel Hernández, whose stage name is Tekashi 6ix9ine, is back in the jail federal of New York.

Who is Tekashi 6ix9ine and what is his sentence

With a Mexican mother and Puerto Rican father, the American Tekashi rose to fame in 2017 thanks to the success of his song «Gummo.»

Since then, he released several songs that also had a lot of impact, although his popularity is also due to his controversial actions and, above all, the problems he has had with justice.

The rapper was accused of multiple crimesamong which are the abuse of a minor, physical attacks on third parties and the possession and sale of drugs.

In 2018, he also pleaded guilty to his participation in a violent gang based in New York: the Nine Trey Gangsta Bloods.

A year later, he assumed responsibility for nine charges against him. For this, he was due to be sentenced in January 2020 and faced a possible mandatory sentence of 47 years in prison.

However, in December, he was sentenced to two years of effective prison, followed by five years of probation. Later, it was learned that his sentence had been reduced thanks to the fact that he testified against other members of the gang, which earned him several important hip hop figures to disown him for being a «snitch.»

In March 2020, while detained at the Metropolitan Center, he requested to serve the remainder of his sentence in house arrest, claiming that he was at increased risk of contracting the COVID-19 virus due to his pre-existing asthma condition.

Justice granted the rapper’s request and he was under probation, But, after violating the conditions of the regime several times, he was forced to return to prison for three months, a period that actually began to run yesterday.
