According to the Brazilian media G1he University Hospital of the Federal University of Valle of São Francisco (HU-Univasf) confirmed in a statement that a patient from the Petrolina Prompt Care Unit (UPA) was admitted on Wednesday with a diagnosis of “methanol poisoning”.
This substance is a colorless liquid with an odor and appearance very similar to ethanol, which makes it difficult to differentiate, and World Health Organization (WHO) warned that ingesting even small amounts can be fatal for an adult.

According to the influencer’s mother, the drink consumed was un whisky acquired in the city of São Bento do Una, in the wild region of the state. “They drank about a liter and a half,” he said. The remaining bottle was sent to authorities for forensic analysis.
