The 55th Argentine Duckpin Bowling Championship began in Mar del Plata

With the presence of authorities, delegations from all over the country and a large gathering of people from Mar del Plata and tourists, a new edition of the most important tournament in the world was inaugurated. The opening ceremony was held in the “Los Molinos de América” square, on Paseo Dávila in Punta Iglesia, with the accompaniment of the National Sea Guard and representatives of the local tourism sector. Thus begins a week of federal competition organized by the Argentine Civil Association of Duckpin Bowling Players.

The city of Mar del Plata began this Sunday the 55th edition of the Argentine Duckpin Bowling Championship, with an inaugural event that brought together delegations, residents and tourists in the “Los Molinos de América” square, an emblematic point of Paseo Dávila that frames the coastal landscape of Punta Iglesia.

An opening with Mar del Plata identity

The delegations entered escorted by the National Sea Guard, an official protocol body that since 1969 has represented the tourist and cultural identity of the city. With their usual choreographic display, they provided a warm welcome that attracted the attention of visitors and generated a festive atmosphere around the event.

Present at the event was Bernardo Martín, president of the General Pueyrredon Municipal Tourism and Culture Body, who welcomed the players and highlighted the value of Mar del Plata hosting the tournament in the run-up to the summer season, inviting visitors to enjoy the city, its gastronomy and its cultural agenda.

The spirit of the tournament

The championship, which will take place from November 16 to 23, brings together more than 200 players from different provinces who will compete in categories A and B (women) and A, B and integration of C (men).

The president of the Argentine Civil Association of Duckpin Bowling Players, Mauro Calandraexpressed his gratitude to both the host city and the participants:
«Mar del Plata welcomes us with open arms and that fills us with pride. This city always accompanies the Duckpin and makes it possible for the championship to be a true sporting festival.»
He also highlighted the role of the participants:
«The protagonists are the players. Each one contributes their commitment, their passion and their history in this sport. This tournament exists and grows thanks to them.»
