The Shinkansen is the famous japanese bullet train. Since the first line opened in 1964, the network has expanded to connect most of the cities on the islands of Honshū and Kyūshū, with a length of 3.050 km at speeds of up to 320 km/h.
Initially they called them «Super Express of Dreams» and they have an almost Swiss punctuality.
