It will be held from August 31 to September 2, 2026 and will bring together representatives from Surveying, Notaries and territorial management.
The Professional Council of Surveying of the Province of Buenos Aires announced the official launch of the Bicentennial Cadastral Congress: Origin and development of Argentine territorial planning, which will take place on August 31, September 1 and 2, 2026, in the city of Mar del Plata, with headquarters at the Costa Galana Hotel.
The Congress is part of the bicentennial of the creation of the Argentine Topographic Department (1826–2026) and proposes to generate a space for analysis and reflection on the historical and current role of the cadastre and Surveying in the construction of the country’s territorial planning.
The commemoration constitutes an opportunity to review the processes that shaped the Argentine territory, analyze current challenges and project criteria that guide its development.
“The Bicentennial invites us not only to look at the past, but also to think about the present and future of the territory from a technical, legal and institutional perspective,” said Surveyor Reinaldo Beain, president of the Professional Council of Surveying of Buenos Aires.
And he added: “The cadastre and Surveying occupy a central place in legal certainty, land planning and territorial management, and this Congress seeks to put these debates back in the foreground.”
The meeting is conceived as an area of technical and institutional exchange, aimed at strengthening the dialogue between Surveying professionals, Notaries, Lawyers, Registrars and all those actors involved in the registration, cadastral and territorial planning publicity processes.
From an institutional perspective, Congress aims to articulate technical, legal and public management knowledge, promoting discussions that provide regulatory clarity and better tools for making decisions linked to the territory and habitat.
“We need solid technical consensus that accompanies the transformations of the territory and provides answers to the current demands of society,” said Beain.
“This Congress is an opportunity to build those perspectives collectively and with a strong professional base.”
The program will be structured around three major thematic axes: Legal Surveying, Real Estate Complexes and Property Regularization, which organize the technical discussions and the planned professional contributions.
The organization reported that in March 2026 the call for the presentation of works and presentations will be opened, while in April 2026 registration for attendees will be enabled. In the coming months, the preliminary program and list of speakers will be announced.
