A flight between Chicago and Frankfurt, Germany, had to be diverted to Boston after a man stabbed two minors with a fork while on board the plane.
As reported this Tuesday by the United States Federal Prosecutor’s Office, the man faces a sentence of up to 10 years in prison and one fine of up to $250,000.

The attack in mid-flight
While aboard Flight 431 LufthansaUsiripalli allegedly stabbed a 17-year-old passenger on the shoulder with a metal fork and a second passenger of the same age in the back of the head.
According to the documents shared by the Prosecutor’s Office, the events occurred after the food was distributed to the passengers.
«When crew members attempted to subdue Usiripalli, he allegedly raised his hand, formed a gun with his fingers, put it in his mouth and pulled the imaginary trigger.
It happened on a Lufthansa flight between Chicago and Frankfurt (Germany) (Instagram).Immediately afterward, Usiripalli allegedly turned to a female passenger to his left and he slapped her with his hand. Usiripalli also allegedly tried to slap «a crew member,» the Prosecutor’s Office explained.
As a result of these events, the flight was diverted to Boston Logan International Airport, where the defendant was detained.
Usiripalli is an Indian citizen who «does not have legal status in the US.» but that he entered the country on a student visa and enrolled in a Bible studies program.
