«He asked me: ‘Can you explain to me what relationship you have with her?’ I replied: ‘Yes, she is my daughter,'» Jonathan told the aforementioned media. However, Logan was not convinced, so he tried to see Emmi to make sure she was not in danger.

«It didn’t really help much because she stayed quiet and didn’t say anything,» Jonathan said. «I had no idea what they were talking about. «I didn’t hear anything,» Emmi added.

The intervention of a witness alerts the authorities

Faced with doubt and fear, Logan decided to report the incident to the Guelph Police Servicewhich launched an investigation. The authorities published a screenshot of the cafeteria’s security cameras in order to locate Jonathan and Emmi.

Logan, days later, explained that he decided to alert the authorities «as a precaution»by maintaining that human trafficking «it’s a serious problem».

By corroborating the link between Jonathan and Emmi, local police concluded the investigationsince there was no evidence that it was a criminal case. «It’s a huge relief. I was still worried even a week after making the call,» Logan said.

For his part, Jonathan explained that understood the concern from Logan. «If one of my children disappeared, I would destroy the world to find him. I would expect every person to be vigilant, to have their eyes open,» he said.
