A luxury cruise ship made history: it sold 3,410 margaritas in just eight hours

The American shipping company Princess Cruises obtained the récord Guinness after reaching the highest number of margaritas sold in a period of eight hours. The official record counted a total of 3,410 cocktails artisanal items shipped during the day.

The incident occurred on February 17 on board the ship Regal Princess. With this sales volume, the organization surpassed the previous mark, which stood at 2,728 drinks. The event took place while the ship was completing a seven-day Western Caribbean itinerary departing from Galveston, Texas.

Furthermore, the validation of the brand coincided with the National Daisy Daywhich is celebrated every February 22. Thomas Bradfordofficial adjudicator of Guinness World Records, supervised the activity in the ship’s various consumer centers.

“You could feel the celebration in every bar at the Regal Princess as Princess Cruises “made history with a new Guinness World Records title for the most margaritas sold in 8 hours,” said Bradford, according to a company statement.

The 24K Margarita: the flagship cocktail that conquered thousands of passengers

This achievement added to a previous commercial milestone for the company. Between January 1, 2025 and January 7, 2026, the fleet recorded the sale of 1.038.197 units of its flagship cocktail, the so-called «24K Daisy».

The preparation of this drink uses white organic tequila from the brand Pants, Cointreau and Grand Marnier. Employees pour the mixture over ice into a glass with the rim rimmed with salt.

The alliance between the shipping company and the tequila company began in October 2024. This collaboration was recently reinforced with the appointment of Camila and Matthew McConaughey as godparents of the new Star Princess ship.

The founders of the tequila brand sent a video message to congratulate the crew and passengers on the record. The content was projected in various areas of the ship for the audience present.

Sami Cohenvice president of Food and Beverages of the firm, valued the result obtained on the high seas. “Celebrating one million 24K margaritas and making history with a Guinness World Records title captures the spirit and enthusiasm that our guests brought to create this unforgettable moment,” stated the manager.

The product catalog includes other variants of cocktails with ingredients such as lime, jalapeño and grapefruit. These items make up a collection of liquors from brands linked to international public figures.
